Dear Exchange Partner,
This summer, before a crowd of community leaders and government officials, two students demonstrated how to distill water in one of the laboratories of the Africa Exchange Project Center for the Study of Science. What began as a dream is now a reality. The Science Center is complete and instruction has begun in all four labs!

You made it happen! Will you renew your commitment with an annual gift?

The Africa Exchange Project is different from most other non-profits doing development work. Ours is a true partnership — an exchange of ideas and a partnership among friends. In 2018, we helped establish the Africa Exchange Development Board in Tanzania. This group of educators, business leaders, and community elders meets regularly to assess the needs of the community and identify short, medium, and long-term goals.

This summer, six of us sponsored by the Africa Exchange Project were able to meet in person with this Board for the first time. We were able to discuss at length a variety of needs and opportunities, now that the Science Center is complete.

We are most excited to announce that we will be bringing four visitors to the United States in the spring of 2024. We cannot wait to introduce you to these leaders. There will be opportunities for them to learn from counterparts in the United States, gatherings large and small for conversation and dialogue, and there will certainly be a gathering to celebrate our exchange.

Through the Africa Exchange Project, lives are transformed. Students learn. Teachers have the resources they need. Elders are receiving care and support. And we can do even more.

Your donation to this November Appeal will make a lasting difference.
In gratitude and appreciation,

Healthcare
Sometimes, small money can have a big impact. This summer we purchased two bicycles. These allow Dr.Gladman and the Dispensary lab tech Wilbert to visit elders more often, especially those who live far away. And sometimes, we rely on the collective generosity of many.

This summer, while we were there, we learned of a young mother who experienced difficulties during labor. The local clinic was unequipped to provide the needed care. She was rushed to the hospital, but sadly not in time to save the baby.

If we could raise enough money, we could provide an ultrasound machine and other lab equipment that would help with early intervention and offer critical care during emergencies.

Education
Mariam, one of the first recipients of the Barnabus Chavala High School Scholarship, is starting college! Because of her excellent education and high grades, she is able to attend college without our assistance. We hope to see more young women follow in her footsteps.

A yearly scholarship costs just $750. Could you cover one? Or all six years of a students’ education? Can you help us buy school supplies for our youngest pupils? With your help, we can create a path from the youngest kindergarteners to our high school students like Mariam’s.

Nothing beats the welcome of friends coming home.
